I believe that as a society, we have grown to be more and more accepting of things that come our way. This kind of progressiveness, and looking forwardness (is that even a word?) has it's benefits, in that no one feels left out.

But at the same time, we must know when to draw a line. Humans are creatures of habit, and being too progressive and accepting of any idea that comes forward can have it's own consequences, whether you intend for them to occur or not.

One such example of this is the queer community, but more specifically the trans community.

I believe that trans females who actually put in the effort to pass and be as genuine as possible deserve acceptance and respect. As for the other group of people who don't, and literally walk out with a shadow on their upper lip, or a full on beard, and then claim that they are a "woman", I do not believe that they deserve acceptance as "valid" trans people (god the term "valid" sounds like a joke lol), because they put in minimal effort, and/or don't even care about passing, which reflects poorly on the rest of the community who tries to be as genuine as possible in their efforts.

There are of course exceptions for this, such as if you haven't come out publicly yet, or if you have only come out to a small group of people.

These god awful members of the community are the exact reason why the whole "should trans women be allowed into woman bathrooms?" argument has been amplified to a much bigger degree than it should have, because we have buffoons like these claiming to be women (when in reality they are closer to men in dresses or woman's attire, and I feel absolutely no empathy whatsoever when they get made fun of).

Now, I am not saying, nor do I believe that if you don't persue medical transitional options such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that you are a disgrace to the community. There are plenty of reasons not go on it (such as it being relatively experimental, it making your reproductive systems malfunction, etc.), but as long as you try your best to pass and be genuine in every aspect of your appearance outside of that realm, I believe that you deserve respect and acceptance.

If you are one of the people I mentioned in a negative context, just do yourself and the greater trans community a favour. Stop being a joke, and actually put effort into your transition and outward appearance.
